Observations:
As Anton made the ill-advised decision of leaving Blåvand Bird observatory and not living the rest of his life at the west coast observing birds, I (Johan) am back on migration counts for the next few days. Today's weather didn't look lethal (4m/s from west), but an amazingly beatiful sunrise and some good company made the morning quite enjoyable.

We had some decent passerine movement that was confidently counted by Joshua. Highlights of this group came in the shape of Horned Larks (Eremophila alpestris), of which we had 28 with a decent group resting on the beach, 220 Redpoll (Acanthis flammea) showing off and a season record of 5475 European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris). We have been having okay numbers of Starlings the last couple of weeks, but we have been waiting for a proper numerous day like today. So that was nice to deliver and many thanks to all the involved observers.

The obligatory Northern Nutcrackers (Nucifraga caryocatactes) also flew by the morning team; 2 today. These birds never get dull, and then it is of course good for visitors to get a feel of the birds Blåvand have been delivering this season.
