Ringing:

Ringing was cancelled due to weather conditions.

Observations:

As ringing was cancelled due to weather again today I joined Anton for another day of slow obs. We had low visibility and winds were still quite stormy so there were no passerine migration, but we did get an ocean to observe. We had 1824 Common Scoters (Melanitta nigra) which is the highest number I've been present for, and then some nice species to suprise us. I found my lifer Little Auk (Alle alle) which gave quite a stir. As we've had som good Alcid migration these last days, we doubled checked for as long as possible, until the individual passed a Little Gull and we felt quite stupid for doubting it even a second. The undisputed highlight of the day came in the form of a Leach's Storm Petrel (Hydrobates leucorhous) found by Anton. My first seen outside the bunker, and it gave quite a different experience. It was Anton first storm petrel so extremely nice, and good to be a self found individual for him as well.

Tomorrow we say goodbye to Anton after 40 days of migration counts. He will be sorely missed around the house and on the beaches of Denmarks westernmost point.

At the station: Anton, Storm, Mathilde, Johan, Helena
